Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seals joints together with cement or glue.
Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains
Perform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts, position pipe, or seal joints
Position required frequently lifting up to 75 lbs
Position requires physical labor tasks such as shovel work and trench digging as involved with commercial construction pipe laying
Must adhere to safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.

Cement Mason - Full Time (6)

The following are some of the typical tasks expected of this position: ground preparation; setting forms to required pitch and depth; cutting/bending/setting reinforcement; spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float; mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers and straightedge; cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods and place rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill; chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools. Measure distance from reference points and mark guidelines to lay out work, using plumb bobs and levels. Shapes block in preparation for final setting with use of chisels and/or power saws. Spreads mortar along mortar guides to ensure joints of uniform thickness. Spreads mortar over block and foundation with trowel and sets masonry in place by hand. Aligns block, with plumb line and finishes joints with pointing trowel. Fasten or fuse block or other building material to structure with wire clamps, anchor holes, torch, or cement. Remove excess mortar with trowels and hand tools, and finish mortar joints with jointing tools, for a sealed, uniform appearance. Construct corners by fastening in plumb position a corner pole or building a corner pyramid of blocks, and filling in between the corners using a line from corner to corner to guide each course, or layer, of block. Other duties as assigned by the Foreman/Superintendent.
Education and/or Experience:
Five years of applicable concrete/masonry construction experience preferred.

LABORER - Full Time (7)

The construction laborer helps the pipe layer by performing duties requiring less technical experience. Duties include using, supplying or holding materials or tools, and cleaning work area and equipment. The laborer plays a major day to day role to keep work sites clean and compliant. NOTE: Must have a flexible schedule (make work irregular or odd hours in outdoor work sites, depending upon project needs or weather), including nights and weekends.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
Load, unload, and/or identify materials and tools
Dig ditches or trenches, back fill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications
Preforms general construction work (using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 pounds) under direction of Foreman or Supervisor
May perform flagging duties to control and maintain flow of traffic in work zone
Perform other duties, as and when assigned.
Qualifications
Must have physical ability to recognize and avoid security risks.
Able to communicate effectively with others and work cooperatively in teams (including resolving basic conflicts with or without the assistance of management).
Flexible to work during odd hours, including overtime, night work and weekends.
Must be able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/ conditions
Must be comfortable working in 15ft to 20ft trenches
